Edward Felson is in desperate need of a loan for to keep his mill up and working. To convince the local banker, Edward and his wife Lucinda invite him to an elegant dinner, only to find themselves in trouble when they’re forced to hire a new butler who’s the wrong nationality, Edward’s wayward brother returns, their daughter invites a firebrand suffragist to the party, and the mill workers decide to try an outrageous - and possibly dangerous - plan to try to save their jobs.
As things go from bad to worse, it'll require all of the Felsons' cunning and guile – and a good deal of help from the clever, ambitious new butler – to keep their heads above water.
